In the "last mile" of secondary water supply that safeguards residents' drinking water safety, water quality testing is an indispensable process. Even minor fluctuations in turbidity may indicate potential water quality issues, such as particle detachment caused by slight pipe corrosion or initial microbial proliferation. The high-precision measurement capability of the VN3100 enables staff to detect these hidden risks in a timely manner and take corresponding measures to resolve them, preventing the deterioration of water quality problems.
The VN3100 Portable Turbidimeter integrates ratio detection technology and the 90° scattered light method, featuring flexible power supply via 4 AA batteries and blank sample-free calibration. With its user-friendly cuvette-based water sample testing method, it serves as a powerful assistant for full-scenario water quality monitoring in secondary water supply systems.
The VVNA VN3100 Portable Turbidimeter adopts advanced ratio measurement technology, which is the core of its accurate turbidity measurement. Traditional turbidity measurement methods are susceptible to interference from factors such as light source fluctuations and water sample color, leading to deviations in measurement results. In contrast, ratio measurement technology effectively eliminates such interferences by simultaneously detecting scattered light intensity at multiple angles and calculating the ratio between them. The instrument's built-in high-stability light source emits light of a specific wavelength. When the light travels through the water sample, it scatters upon encountering suspended particles. The instrument's optical system accurately captures the scattered light at different angles, converts the optical signals into electrical signals via a precision photoelectric conversion device, and then processes the signals through complex calculations in a high-performance data processing unit to generate an accurate turbidity value.
As the "transfer stations" of secondary water supply, elevated water tanks are highly prone to water quality issues caused by inadequate cleaning and algae growth. The compact and lightweight VN3100 Portable Turbidimeter allows staff to carry it to the tank site, collect water samples from different depths and corners using matching containers, pour the samples into cuvettes, and then place the cuvettes into the instrument's testing chamber. Based on ratio detection technology, the instrument can quickly eliminate interferences from water sample color and light source fluctuations without cumbersome blank sample calibration steps, and display accurate turbidity values within 3 seconds. During a routine inspection of a community water tank, property management personnel used this instrument to detect a turbidity value of 1.7 NTU in the water sample taken from the tank bottom, far exceeding the standard limit. They immediately initiated the tank cleaning process, avoiding the risk of water contamination.
During water supply restoration after pipe burst repairs or pipeline construction, water quality monitoring at pipe network terminals requires urgent action. Powered by 4 AA batteries, the VN3100 can be activated at any time even in power outages or remote areas. On-site staff directly collect water samples from user faucets into cuvettes, place the cuvettes into the instrument, and the device immediately initiates the testing procedure. Leveraging ratio detection technology and the 90° scattered light method, it accurately identifies suspended substances such as sediment and rust in water samples, enabling rapid judgment on whether the water quality meets standards. In an incident where water supply pipelines were damaged by a rainstorm, maintenance personnel carried multiple VN3100 instruments and completed terminal water testing for 12 communities within 30 minutes, ensuring timely restoration of water supply after confirming compliance with water quality standards.
Pipe corrosion and scaling are common problems in secondary water supply systems of old residential communities, making regular pipeline condition inspections essential. The VN3100 allows staff to collect water samples from faucets on different floors and in different buildings, sequentially place the samples in cuvettes for testing, and quickly obtain a large volume of data. Its built-in ratio detection technology ensures stable and reliable output results, and the automatic storage function can record up to 500 sets of test results, facilitating subsequent analysis of water quality change trends in the pipe network. Through 3 consecutive months of turbidity monitoring in an old community, it was found that the average turbidity of Building 3 was 0.8 NTU higher than that of other buildings. Based on this data, it was determined that the water supply pipelines of this building were severely corroded, providing key data support for targeted pipeline replacement.
After the completion of water tank cleaning and disinfection, compliance with water quality standards must be verified through quantitative data. The VN3100 features a user-friendly interface that can be easily operated even by non-professionals. Water samples are collected and tested before and after cleaning respectively. With ratio detection technology, the instrument can accurately compare turbidity values, clearly demonstrating the cleaning effectiveness. After cleaning the water tank of a commercial complex, this instrument detected a turbidity reduction from 1.5 NTU (before cleaning) to 0.6 NTU (after cleaning), which meets drinking water standards, ensuring water safety for merchants and customers.
